Intro

This is the story of the Merikins as told through the eyes of Curwin Callendar, a proud

descendant of the freed, African-American slaves who journeyed to Trinidad at the height of

slavery between May 1815 to August 1816.

Take a look at the history of the settlers, and how their culture shaped Trinidad and Tobago

forever.
